Dorothy Childers, 86, of Ashburn, formerly a longtime resident of Bedford, VA, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at home. Mrs. Childers was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Carbondale, PA, to the late Alvin and Esther Civils Arnold. Her husband of 42 years, Paul Childers, predeceased her in 1990. Mrs. Childers enjoyed catering to her family and friends with the marvelous creations she would prepare in her kitchen over the years. She loved going out to eat, her cappuccinos, the soaps and puzzle books, but above all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Childers is survived by her three beloved daughters: Sharlene Lim of Palmdale, CA, Co Co Boyd of Elkton, MD, and Sabrina Bartley of Ashburn; her sister, Luray Layton of Pennsgrove, NJ; six grandchildren: Aaron and Elgien Lim, Ashlea Sukhwani and April Boyd, and Ryan and Lauren Bartley; three special friends: Barbara, Missy and Roseanne; and her faithful companion Velvet.
