Annual Fundraiser Event to Support Local Rotary Club

A dinner buffet, live music, and prizes will be available to everyone who attends on Saturday

The Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club will be holding an Elimination Raffle and Pig Pickin’ event on Saturday, Sept. 17. The annual fundraiser is scheduled to take place at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds and is helps raise money for the rotary's scholarship fund. A $100 ticket will get you dinner for two and a chance to win $5,000 plus other cash prizes. Only 200 tickets will be sold.

“This is our primary fundraiser of the year so we can not only support our high school scholarship but have the extra money available to donate to other charities,” said Rotary member Terri Snyder.  “Our club raises money for all kinds of community charities such as the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, the local health clinic, and others that come to us throughout the year. It’s nice to be able to support them and hopefully we will raise enough money with this fundraiser. “

The one day event will be held from 5 to 9 pm. A dinner buffet will be available, beginning at 6 pm, along with a live band, a silent auction, door prizes, and the chance to win a lot of cash. As of Friday, Snyder said tickets were still available for the evening event. Those still interested in attending are invited to purchase a ticket at the door.

“This is a great way to meet local Rotarians. It’s a great way to support the local community while having fun and to mingle with other people that are supporting our rotary,” Snyder said. “It’s not a very expensive way to win a lot of money. If you do come and you haven’t got a raffle ticket it’s only $50 for two people to eat and be a part of the event. People can eat, walk away with door prizes, win cash and some really nice auction items. I think everyone will have a good time.“
