There's a new art gallery in town and it was officially welcomed to the Village at Leesburg during a ribbon cutting ceremony last Saturday.

Arts in the Village is a collaboration between the Loudoun Arts Council and the Village at Leesburg, creating a place for local artists to display and sell their work. The new 2,100 square-foot gallery will showcase more than 20 of Loudoun’s most innovative visual artists, photographers and artisans.

"The addition of this new eclectic gallery of local art in Leesburg will enhance our growing reputation as an arts community," said Leesburg Mayor Kristen Umstattd. "This will add to the vibrancy of our economy as it draws visitors in from across the region."

Economic Development Director Marantha Edwards echoed the mayor's comments by saying that the new addition at the village is a stimulating extension of the arts community in Leesburg.

"The patrons to the shops and restaurants at the village have a delightful space to enjoy and there is a new link among the downtown art galleries and Art Square in Cardinal Park," Edwards said. "The space is bright and exciting – the artist’s work is very appealing. I look forward to art coming alive on the sidewalks with musicians and painters."
