Bear Spotted Near Leesburg

The bear was spotted on April 22 on Hogback Mountain Road, just outside of Leesburg.

 

A black bear was spotted in Leesburg Sunday night, according to an article that appeared earlier today on Loudoun Times-Mirror

Leesburg resident Elizabeth Lipovsky said she spotted the bear at her home on Hogback Mountain Road on April 22. According to the article, bear sightings are actually good for Loudoun County because it equates to a healthy ecosystem, said Laura Rizer of Loudoun County Animal Control.

Residents who see a bear and believe them to be a threat should contact the Loudoun County Department of Animal Services at 703-777-0406 for eastern Loudoun and 540-882-3211 for western Loudoun.
