Get 'BurgerFied' at the Village at Leesburg
BurgerFi offers all-natural burgers, fresh cut fries and custard shakes.
Leesburg has been "BurgerFied." At least that’s what Leesburg BurgerFi franchise co-owner David Landry calls it.
Landry and his partners opened their BurgerFi hamburger joint Tuesday next to Finnegan’s Irish Pub at the Village at Leesburg.
Part of a small, but fast-growing franchise operation that began in Florida, BurgerFi is expanding throughout the United States, Landry said.
The restaurant is known for its all-natural Angus burgers, complete with the BurgerFi logo stamped on the bun. Basic toppings come free, while the premium extras cost a dollar.
The menu has options other than burgers, including all-natural hot dogs served with a variety of toppings, fresh cut fries and onion rings.
For dessert, BurgerFi offers old-fashioned frozen custard, shakes and "frozen concrete," custard layered with cake, brownies or pie. The restaurant offers wine and beer, and has Lost Rhino beer on tap.
Landry owns the restaurant with his son, Chris, and their partner, Tim Kelly.
"Everything is all-natural, including the interior, which is made in large part of recycled materials,” Landry said. “The Parallam tables are made from recycled wood, the chairs are created from recycled Coke bottles."
Now that the restaurant is open, Landry said he and his partners are looking for more opportunity to become more involved in Leesburg and Loudoun County.
"We are looking forward to being involved in the community and with local charities," he said.
