Councilman Dave Butler to Hold Campaign Kickoff
The event will take place this Saturday at the Leesburg Executive Airport where Butler will officially announce his run for re-election.
With less than two months until the November elections, Town Council member Dave Butler will hold a campaign kickoff Saturday at the Leesburg Executive Airport beginning at 10 a.m.
Butler is one of nine candidates who announced they'd be running.
During Saturday's event, Butler said he plans to discuss upcoming projects and what the Town of Leesburg has to look forward to in the next few years.
He plans to give everyone a chance to voice their concerns while sharing what he will do for the town if re-elected.
Butler, who has been serving on the Town Council since July 1, 2008, said he has decided to run for another term so he can continue to help the town move forward while improving the town’s overall quality of life. To learn more about Butler's campaign, including some of his views, click here.

Before you waste your vote on Dave Butler, ask him first about his homosexual and pro-LGBT, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender views.....
Dave Butler is the most disgusting liberal pro-LGBT wanna-be-politician who actually thinks it should be ILLEGAL for people to be opposed to homosexuality on moral, religious grounds or based on personal principles.
In other words, Dave Butler wants to force homosexuality on the rest of us and on public school students.
Could someone give Dave Butler a CONSTITUTION of the United States so he can read for himself - if knows how to read - that Americans have the right to Freedom of Religion, Speech, Association!!!
Demand VOUCHER system for public schools - liberals do not want vouchers because they know that if all heterosexual religious parents send their children to private or parochial schools, the public schools with their homosexual agenda will not be able to survive .....
Leesburg, say NO to homosexual education in public schools and say NO to Dave Butler's homosexual agenda!!!
Leesburg can do better!!!

Well, I hadn't planned to vote for Butler before because of policy differences on the issues, but Vieslava Rutkowska just convinced me that if someone so filled with hate (for the gay and lesbian friends I have who are model citizens in Loudoun) is against Dave Butler for his support of this kind, hardworking and service-oriented community, I am fully persuaded now to vote FOR him.

I found Dave Butler's brochure yesterday in my mailbox.
Among the accomplishments listed are:
- Sunday School teacher at the Episcopal Church
- BOY SCOUT LEADER
hmmm..... as far as I know, The Boy Scouts of America have a policy that anyone who is homosexual or holds pro-homosexual views CANNOT be a Girl Scout or Boy Scout leader .....
Looks to me like a major INTEGRITY crisis.

Integrity crisis? I think not -- more like trying to reach out and build bridges of understanding, I would say.

The Boy Scouts of America is a PRIVATE organization and one of it's goals is to teach girls and boys good old fashioned values --- teaching children about homosexuality or pro-LGBT ideas is NOT what Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts are about......
IF Dave Butler believes The Boy Scouts of America should be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender inclusive, he should start his own organization instead of hijacking and changing the rules in someone else's PRIVATE sandbox .....

My sons were in the Boy Scouts, so I know quite a bit about what they do. And their mission is to encourage boys to become men who are ethical and skilled and service oriented toward their communities. I have quite a few gay friends who are ethical and skilled and service oriented toward their communities. I don't see a problem here. I hope you will find an opportunity to get to know the gay and lesbian community more as friends and neighbors and talk to them in person. But at any rate, than you for being transparent about your thoughts -- we can at least engage on the level of honesty.

I would like to humbly reminds you that those are YOUR views on life.
Other people may have different views on homosexuality and may wish to protect their children from that lifestyle.
For the record, here is the official Boy Scouts' policy:

P.S. I am NOT interested in lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender "friends" and if they are my neighbors, I'll probably limit myself to occasional "hello" - no invitation to a family picnic or thanksgiving dinner....
Or I buy a house on big secluded lot .....
THIS IS NOT BLACK and WHITE ISSUE!

VR, are you currently working in real estate under the name Vivianne Rutkowski or Vieslava Rutkowska? Or have you been unable to find employment due to your inflammatory and embarrassing behavior, like that displayed here?
You certainly are as hilarious as ever. Good luck.

You certainly prove my points made above.
For that I thank you.

Yes, Vivianne, I am that David Weintraub, although I think you meant to point to this: http://www.equalityloudoun.org/2012/01/31/anti-gay-anti-trans-realtor-terminated-from-keller-williams/ . Now that I have your attention, could you please finally answer the question that many, many readers at that site have patiently asked you? Where did you learn what you "know" about LGBT people? Did you read it in a book or magazine, see something on TV, or hear something on the radio? Do you have a mentor who is guiding you?
You were terminated from your brokerage for making unfounded, defamatory assertions about people you don't know anything about, not to mention your personal attacks on individuals like Mr. Butler. My genuine hope was that you might have learned something from that experience. I'm very sad for you.

????????
Again, it only proves my point.
Voters cannot ask Mr. Butler a SIMPLE question BEFORE they cast a ballot without being attacked and harassed by his LGBT supporters.
This question may not matter to you, but it does matter to me, and as a VOTER I have a RIGHT to KNOW - I think ALL VOTERS who do NOT support LGBT lifestyle deserve to know.
Mr. Butler, come clean before November 6 election so we can make an informed vote.

Ms. Rutkowska, I don't recall even one LGBT issue ever coming before the Leesburg Town Council. By law, we can only legislate on issues that the Virginia General Assembly specifically allows us to. LGBT issues are generally not in our purview, and we have nothing at all to do with schools.
Our focus is on transporation solutions, land use, ensuring we have enough police, picking up the trash, leaves, and brush, supporting our parks and recreation facilities, and just keeping Leesburg a great place to live, where everyone, of all opinions and lifestyles, can enjoy themselves and contribute.

Mr. Butler,
YES or NO answer. Do you support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender lifestyle?
Because IF you do, I do NOT want to vote for you - I hope you recognize that in no way people who are opposed to LGBT lifestyle are obligated to vote for you. You do NOT represent me.

It certainly shows the character of someone who won't use their real name in a post. This "V" person is one the most despicable and vile persons on the face of the Earth. No wonder why she was fired at Keller Williams, and, if she's working for another mortgage company, they need to know the low level of human being they have in their midst. As an ally of the LGBT community, I would be more than happy to lend my voice as the first person to contact her new employer to inform them that they employ the lowest level of the human race in their company. People, like this woman, disgraces ALL Americans and humans with her incendiary and idiotic remarks.

I'm exercising my freedom to expose disgraceful and dishonorable people as yourself. Call it what you want, but a person with the despicable views you have has no place in an organization that has a public profile. Yes, I would be available to defend the rights of EVERY person, especially my friends in the LGBT community, in showing people the type of low level human you are.

Voters should absolutely ask questions of elected officials and candidates. I think that is the point of an article announcing a campaign kickoff, after all. Unfortunately, Ms. Rutkowski has missed my point - which is that for those questions to have any value, they need to make sense and be tethered to reality. It also helps if they are germane to the actual responsibilities of the office the candidate is running for. Instead, Ms. Rutkowski has chosen to use this article as a forum for attacking other members of the community.

I have too much respect for the voting process to waste my vote on someone who is on the opposite side of the political and moral spectrum.

What people on here are saying is not that you don't have the right to vote for the person who you agree with. We proudly let people run for office regardless of their beliefs, which is how it should be. What I'm saying, however, is that your views are incredibly offensive and seem to have left the ballpark of "opinion" into "completely and utterly factually wrong". I object to your hate, not your freedom of speech.

Is this YOUR definition of "hate speech"???
Anyone who does NOT approve of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender lifestyle is guilty of "hate speech"??? Right now you are violating my First Amendment Rights.
I do NOT wish to VOTE for someone who is pro-LGBT and I would like Mr. Butler to answer this question. How is that "hate speech"???

The Radical Homosexuals infiltrating the United States Congress have a plan:
Indoctrinate an entire generation of American children with pro-homosexual propaganda and eliminate traditional values from American society.
US Government should have NO AUTHORITY to force the Homosexual Agenda on the American people, much less their children.
Please, take a few minutes to sign Protect our Children's Innocence Petition, or contact your Senator and Congressman and let them know that you OPPOSE "Student Non-Discrimination Act", which should be more-accurately named "Homosexual Classrooms Act":

Vieslava Rutkowska/Vivienne Rutkowski,
Parroting the hysterical scare tactics and misinformation from Public Advocate, which was designated as a hate group by the civil rights organization Southern Poverty Law Center---isn't winning you any friends. Frankly, it's embarrassing and I feel sorry for you.
I hope one day you can overcome whatever is driving your irrational fear of LGBT citizens and learn to treat people with more respect.

You did not check all of my names: I also use Mary Rutkowski, Susanne Rutkowska, Maryla Rutkowska, Anne Rutkowski, Elizabeth Rutkowski, Elzbieta Rutkowska, and occassionally as Frank Rutkowski.....
You just cannot accept the fact that some people do NOT approve of homosexuality and never will. The First Amendment does apply to EVERYONE, including those who are opposed to homosexuality ...... imagine that.
What is your problem???
I have the right to know who I am VOTING for!

Ms. Rutkowski,
Yes, it would be foolish for you to vote for someone who does not represent you. You will find it hard to find anyone - (Republican, Democrat, Conservative or Progressive) who represents your offensive point of view - but, by all means - go look. (Perhaps Delgaudio.) But, stop looking here. Dave Butler respects people without regard to any criteria that is irrelevant to the character of a human being. Dave is also going to stick to the issues that are relevant to his role on the Town Council.
People here do recognize your First Amendment rights. Most of us would characterize your statements as hate speech even as we would defend your right to make such offensive statements. However, wherever you go with your hate speech, you will generate more opposition to you than support. Your efforts here will backfire and result in more support for Dave.
You are entitled to speak. The First Amendment does not require that anyone respect you or your speech. Go somewhere else if you want respect. You will not find it here.
You are entitled to ask offensive and bigoted questions. No one has to answer such questions. Go somewhere else to get your questions taken seriously.
You are entitled to vote as you wish. Go somewhere else to find a candidate who will respond sympathetically to your hate speech. Fortunately, Leesburg is a wonderfully diverse and accepting community. You will have to look elsewhere to find a candidate who you would like.

I think Mr. Delgaudio should use your comment in the court - should it ever come to that.
Please, provide more proof of what self-righteous, and yes BIGOTTED, people you are.
Delgaudio is right: the minute anyone voices opposition to LGBT lifestyle, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, that speech is labeled as "HATE SPEECH". That in itself speaks VOLUMES about pro-LGBT activists.
In case you did not know, people/voters have the right to disagree .....
People have different views on The Second Amendment, abortion and sex selection, legalizing drugs ,,,, and yes, LGBT lifestyle.
Are you going to attack now gun owner because they might be a threat to your liberal/libertarian "freedom"???
Are you going to promote sex selection because parents have the right to choose???
Are you going to promote legalizing hard drugs because people have the right to do what they want in their personal life???
In case you think, YES you can, The First Amendment protects that right .... here is MY answer for you: yes, you can, but ONLY if it does NOT affect MY First Amendment Rights.

Demonstrating once again that Vivianne doesn't have even a rudimentary understanding of the First Amendment. The right to freedom of speech doesn't mean immunity from consequences. If you say preposterous things, people may fail to respect you, and it may affect your credibility. Simple as that.

1) Does the "rudimentary" understanding of the First Amendment mean that YOU decide what politician I should VOTE for???
2) What does FREEDOM of SPEECH mean for pro-LGBT activists???
3) What "preposterous" things???
