Couples Invited to Fireworks and Romance Event
Morven Park will host the second annual event on July 4, which will include local wines, food and multiple fireworks shows.
For the second year in a row, Morven Park will host its Fireworks and Romance event, on Wednesday, July 4, which allows couples to view multiple fireworks shows from the front lawn of the former Governor’s Westmoreland Davis' mansion.
Director of Communications Teresa Davenport said the event is designed for people who might want to avoid the crowds and traffic of Ida Lee.
“Maybe they want a little more private and intimate setting and they want to be served gourmet foods at the same time,” Davenport said. “It’s the perfect venue for a special date, to celebrate an anniversary or other special event, or to just have a relaxing evening, instead of fighting crowds.”
Couples will be served local wines and hors d'oeuvres, associated with love. Music will also be available including a view that you won’t see anywhere else. Everyone is asked to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on during the three hour event, which begins at 7 p.Lm. Limited seating will be available on the Mansion Portico on a first come, first serve basis.
The cost of the event is $75 per person, which that includes two drink tickets, unlimited access to hot and cold food selections, and desserts. Reservations are required. Event proceeds will go towards Morven Park.
