Easterling & Turner at Quattro Goombas Saturday
Music duo offers a free concert at the winery in Aldie.
South Caroline native Angela Easterling performs tonight, Aug. 4, at Quattro Goombas Winery (see earlier story about Quattro Goombas) in Aldie with guitarist Brandon Turner. The free show runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Easterling’s debut album, Earning Her Wings, earned her an Americana Pick of the Year award by Smart Choice Music. Angela recently released her 4th album, Mon secret (My Secret), in February. Angela constantly tours, whether solo, as a duo or with her band The Beguilers (Brandon Turner, Jeff Hook), playing town fairs and music festivals throughout the Southeast. She has opened for, among others, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sarah Jarosz, Robbie Fulks, Mary Gauthier, Ray Price (at the Birchmere), Suzy Bogguss, Ellis Paul, Radney Foster, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Lori McKenna.
Roger McGuinn, founder of the Byrds, called Easterling "a bright shining star on the horizon." For more information on Angela, including her bio, tour dates and audio downloads, visit her website. www.angelaeasterling.com.
Turner, also a South Carolina native, is a versatile guitarist, who has played both live and in studio with, among others, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, Will Kimbrough and more.
