Fatal Round Hill Shooting Under Investigation

Incident occurred in the Loudoun town west of Purcellville along Route 7.

 

As of Thursday afternoon, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office had not released the name of a female shooting victim in Round Hill as deputies attempted to contact her next of kin.

Most details of the shooting have not yet been released. Shortly before 11 a.m., deputies responded to reports of an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound on the 34900 block of Sunny Ridge Road in Round Hill. By 12:40 p.m., the LCSO reported there was no threat to the public.

All parties involved in the incident remained at the scene, according to an LCSO report. Investigators continued working into Thursday evening.
