This country was a radical experiment, rejecting monarchy and trusting the people to create their own government. Sadly, we continually move away from the limited government with enumerated powers our founders invisioned. Independence is certainly worth celebrating!

Well, after a long drive we got to our "viewing area" for last nights fireworks at 9:35...just in time to MISS the finale!

What gives.....advertized as a 9:30 show! I am very disappointed as it was the first show my 2 1/2 year old could understand what was going on, and was excited about. Had to explain to a crying child that the fireworks were early.

Ida Lee : FAIL!

Terry,

I received an email from Ida Lee announcing that they were going to move up the fireworks to avoid the incoming storm. I'm sorry you missed them, but it seemed like they had to make a tough call. Maybe you can have a re-do at the Ashburn fireworks tomorrow!

Somehow I never received the message about the change to 9, so it wasn't posted here. This is the first I was aware. The weather seemed to be a significant complication this year.
