German Band ARTIG Returns to Heritage High School
The four-member band will perform for local middle and high school students
One of Germany’s most popular school bands, ARTIG, will return to Heritage High School on Thursday to perform live in concert beginning at 10 a.m.
This is the second appearance that the band has made at the local high school this year as part of its two-week East Coast tour of the United States.
The four-member, German-language band, which includes Max (lead vocal/guitar), Dave (vocals/guitar), Martin (bass) and Chris (drums), plays a blend of pop and rock music with themes geared toward teens in both Germany and the United States,
ARTIG was the 2011 winner of the German edition of SchoolJam – a battle of the bands competition with more than 4,000 band entries.
German-language students from Loudoun County’s middle and high schools will will receive tickets to tomorrow's concert. The goal of the tour is to promote an up-to-date image of current German pop culture and to give German students an exceptional opportunity for an authentic intercultural exchange, school administrators say.
