It's an exciting time of year, which means there are a number of activities taking place. This week, choose to be scared in the Paxton Manor haunted house or get lost in a 24-acre corn maize.
During the day, stop by the Leesburg Executive Airport for their second annual air show. Afterwards, experience horse trials at Morven Park or shop at a fall consignment sale. Whatever you choose, this week's Grab & Go offers a number of great options. Details for each event can be found below:
Paxton Manor Haunted House
When/Where: Friday, Sept. 30 through Monday, Oct. 31 at the Paxton Manor, located at 601 Catoctin Circle NE, in Leesburg.
Why Go: Halloween may still be a month away but that doesn't mean the scares have to wait. Join the Paxton Manor as they kickoff SHOCKTOBER 2011! The Funhouse and Haunted Well of Souls will be open throughout the day. At night, prepare yourself for a PG-13 rated tour of the Paxton Manor. Twenty six rooms await you including the dirt basement.

Temple Hall Farm Corn Maize and Fall Festival
When/Where: Begins Friday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 10 pm at Temple Hall Farm, located at 15855 Limestone School Rd, in Leesburg.
Why Go: Due to inclement weather the kickoff to this event was delayed by one week. On Friday, the official opening of the 2011 Temple Hall Farm Corn Maize and Fall Festival is scheduled to take place. In addition to the ever popular maize, corn cannons, pig races and cow train, Temple Hall has many other awesome features sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.

My Child's Closet Consignment Sale
When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Douglass Community Center, located at 407 E Market Street, in Leesburg.
Why Go: My Child’s Closet will hold a fall consignment sale beginning this Saturday. The two day event will feature a number of seasonal items for parents who are looking for a great deal. An estimated 20,000 items will be available for purchase at a very reasonable price. Cash or personal checks will be accepted for purchases and it is recommended that you bring a laundry basket or a large shopping bag to hold your selections while you shop.

Leesburg Airshow
When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. at the Leesburg Executive Airport, located at 1001 Sycolin Road SE, in Leesburg.
Why Go: The Leesburg Executive Airport will host their second annual airshow on Saturday. The event will feature many unique, experimental and antique aircraft, including a P-51 Mustang, a T-6 Texan, a T-28 Trojan, and a Douglas DC-3. Other tarmac attractions will include a variety of aviation-related displays, food vendors and a classic car show. The skies above Leesburg will also come alive with aerobatic and wing walking performances. The airshow will be narrated by nationally acclaimed air show announcer Danny Clisham.

Horse Trials at Morven Park
When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2 beginning at 8 a.m. at Morven Park, located at 41793 Tutt Ln, in Leesburg.
Why Go: Entertain your family with two full days of spectacular equestrian events. Dressage, show jumping, and cross-country jumping will take place. It is one of the fastest growing equestrian pursuits in the world and one in which riders of all ages and abilities can compete.
