Loudoun Teen Band Plays Franklin Park Arts Center
An evening of high-energy rock and roll from students at county music school.
Saturday, Jan. 15, the Loudoun County-based youth band The Immortals will rock the Franklin Park Arts Center. The Immortals consist of an ever-changing group of talented young musicians from Loudoun Music Instruction, a school run by Frank Klein.
The Immortals began in 2006 when Klein saw that several of his students possessed tremendous musical talents. They excelled at music and a basic 30-minute lesson was not enough to satisfy their passion, so he developed the band.
As members of the Immortals, students expand their music theory, composition, stage presence and song writing skills. All members are encouraged to learn a second instrument.
In no time, the Immortals were a hit. By summer 2007, they were playing many concerts in the area and beyond including Youth-Fest and Rock the Field. Before long, they were invited to play at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.
Saturday’s event is ideal for anyone who loves high-energy rock and roll!
The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Franklin Arts Center. Tickets cost $7 per person and can be purchased online or at the door, or reserved by calling 540-338-7973.
The Purcellville Franklin Arts Center is located in a renovated dairy barn that reopened as the arts center in February 2008. The 2010/2011 season runs through June 2011 and features local, national and international performers.

About time you noticed, Patch. By the way, you should visit the Old Town section of Purcellville and see how a few hardy souls have started new businesses and launched a major revitalization of what was, only a few years ago, the dying core of an old grain trading town. Specifically, the story of music in western Loudoun is getting a huge push from the Shamrock Music shop and their community of musicians, teachers and students. Anyone interested in the arts should head west to P'ville and check out Old Town for music, shopping and lunch at any of the excellent food venues, none of which are fast food junk. Skip the mall, go to P'ville, you won't be sorry.
