LTE: Joe May Wrong on Abortion, Guns, Taxes

Supporter of David LaRock against Joe May offers her reasoning.

Dear Editor,

While I have supported Delegate Joe May's run for office in previous years, I am supporting Dave LaRock this primary.

Dave is running for office out of conviction and a desire to accurately represent the desires of his constituents. Dave LaRock has chosen to run for the House of Delegates not because he desires power or control, but because he became aware of Delegate Joe May's appalling voting record. Delegate May's voting record includes: voting for the $6 billion tax increase (which includes an internet sales tax); voting to earn a 75 percent pro-abortion rating from NARAL and a C- from the NRA. The 100 percent approval rating from the Family Foundation, which May's literature says proves that he is pro-life, considers a select amount of legislation that deal with family matters as a whole – not purely the pro-life/pro-abortion issue. However, the NARAL rating does examine the voting record of legislators based exclusively on the life issue – and Joe May aligns with abortion 75 percent of the time.

I am supporting Dave because it is time to elect a wise man of outstanding character who will be true to the foundational, conservative values of our district.
