Luv'nberry Frozen Yogurt Open in Leesburg

Pizza and frozen yogurt lovers are in for a treat. A new frozen yogurt shop called luv'nberry opens this week in Leesburg, a new enterprise by the owners of Manhattan Pizza. Now residents can enjoy a delicious pizza dinner at Manhattan’s Potomac Station restaurant in Leesburg and walk next door to sample gourmet frozen yogurt.

“Frozen yogurt is a hot new item,” said Jack Azar, who owns Manhattan and luv’nberry. “We were supposed to open a year ago but there were some issues with the landlord and Giant Food. We are excited to be opening this week.”

The clean, modern looking yogurt shop offers customers a high-tech, self-serve experience. Even the registers are wireless iPads. There is a 3-D wall with LED lights that change color. 

Azar’s kids came up with the name luv'nberry because many of the flavors have fresh berries and they feel that everyone will love this yogurt.

Azar is using a high-end frozen yogurt made by a company called PreGel America. The shop will have 58 toppings and 15 flavor choices, with 10 flavors changing weekly. Luv'nberry’s yogurt will be sold for just 39¢ per ounce.

Frozen yogurt is known to have many health benefits because it is rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins.  Luv'nberry’s yogurt is gluten free and has active yogurt cultures and probiotics, which are known to be beneficial for digestive health.

Azar said he is already planning several programs to give back to the community. Through the schools, they will provide opportunities to low-income families to come in during the holidays for a free serving of frozen yogurt. In addition, they will be providing gift cards for kids who do well in school. 

Luv'nberry will also be part of Manhattan Pizza’s popular Spirit Night program, where schools can earn up to 20 percent of sales.

“It’s a great combination to be able to offer dinner, then to come next door and have dessert, and schools can benefit from both locations,” Azar said.

Azar is very involved in the Loudoun community as a soccer coach and father to four kids in the Loudoun County school system. He feels it is very important to give back to the community. Last year Manhattan gave $25,000 to schools in Loudoun. Schools can contact Azar if they are interested in participating in any of the giveback programs.

Luv’nberry’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
