Open House to Focus on Fire Safety and Prevention

Saturday event is free and open to the public.

 

The Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event helps raise public awareness about fire safety in celebration of Emergency Fire Prevention Week.

This year's activities will include a life safety trailer for learning how to evacuate your house when a smoke detector sounds, a vehicle rescue demonstration, station and apparatus tours and a live landing of a medical transport helicopter, around noon.

    The event is free and open to the public. Station 20 is located at 61 Plaza Street, N.E., in Leesburg. Call 703-771-9103.
