Over 4,000 high school students will graduate in Loudoun County this year. Among them were 352 students who accepted their diploma at Heritage High School on Sunday. It was the ninth graduation since the school first opened back in 2002.

The festivities kicked off with a welcome message from Principle Jeff Adam. Class president Own Gotimer shared some remarks followed by the performance of "Love Psalm" by the Heritage Singers.

Sunday's guest speaker was former principle Margaret Huckaby who addressed the graduates prior to the presentation of diplomas. She was the first principal of Heritage High School, a post she held until December 2011.

Following the graduation ceremony, an all-night party took place at Ida Lee Park from 10:30 p.m.to 4 a.m. Congratulations to the senior class of 2012!

Really, Heritage couldn’t find a commencement speaker other than a former principal? With being in the backyard of Washington it would seem they could have found someone more fitting.

Margaret Huckaby was the perfect choice to address the class of 2012. As their principal for most of their time at HHS, she inspired these students daily. She was a very appropriate choice. Her address was both revelant and heartfelt. I believe she connected with these grads.
