President Obama to Visit Leesburg Thursday
The president will stop in Loudoun County next week to discuss his vision to rebuild the economy.
UPDATE: The Obama event is being set up in front of the school, rather than the stadium. It will be moved inside if necessary.
Initial story:
President Barack Obama is expected to make a campaign stop in Leesburg next Thursday, according to his campaign.
Obama for America announced Friday that the president will travel to Virginia, Ohio, and Florida next week to lay out his vision to rebuild the economy from the middle out, cut taxes for middle-class families and reduce the country’s deficit.
On Wednesday, Aug. 1, the president will travel to Mansfield and Akron, OH, for campaign events and on Thursday, Aug. 2, he will travel to Leesburg and Orlando for campaign events.
The Obama campaign has an office in Leesburg, one of many in Virginia, considered a battleground state in the 2012 presidential election. Obama visited Leesburg in October 2008, a month before he was elected president.
Donors in Leesburg's 20175 ZIP code lean toward Obama, donating 53.44 percent more to Obama than to GOP challenger Mitt Romney, according to the Virginia Public Access Project. In the 20175 ZIP code, 66 percent of donors giving to the presidential campaigns are giving to the Obama campaign.
Additional details on the president’s campaign events are forthcoming.

Really... he hasn't done anything of any significance for the economy and now all of a sudden he has a vision.... sounds more like he ate pepperoni pizza a little too close to his bedtime

Correction:
"he hasn't done anything of any significance for the economy"... except saving the United States from a 10 year Great Depression with a 25% unemployment rate due to the follies of 8 years of republican economics.

Obama has my vote! Before he was even elected President ... he was honest and realistic in telling us, that if he was elected ... it would take more than four years to straighten out the mess our country has been in for so long. He has been making positive changes ... but, if one is conservative, one is not likely to see it. Just my not so humble opinion.

It's a shame that the media brain washes people and that even in this day in age, we still think it's a good idea to elect someone like Obama. Take a look at Europe, and the decline in the economy in those countries. People complain about the economy and jobs and agree, yes tax the wealthy, tax businesses. Where do you think those jobs come from? The wealthy create jobs, businesses large and small create jobs. When your hiring budget gets smaller and smaller each year because you are taxed more and more, guess what.... you don't hire. The government needs to cut spending, lower taxes, and return to a time where they were a function of our country responsible only for military, law enforcement, and courts.

We don't have to look to Europe - our inner cities have had Democratic leadership for almost 100 years - they are the best example of what to expect with more and more Democratic handouts

This is cool! So far his economic decisions has allowed me and my family to stabilize after the hits during the Bush regime! I'm glad others in the area are the importance of letting him implement his policies in the upcoming term.

HELLO, he is stilling trying to clean up the mess that bush left us with, "the worst president in history" give me a break!!! I think he needs another 4 years to show us what he can do, maybe he hasn't done the greatest job but he didn't come into a good situation either. If Mitt is elected say goodbye to women's rights and hello to higher taxes for middle to low income families and low taxes for the rich people that don't need lower taxes.

don't need to hear your negative and derogatory rants and raves....go post this nonsense somewhere else; no idiots here; just US citizens executing their right to vote for the President that we believe in. So the name calling is really unnecessary and demonstrates your inability to be a responsible American citizen.

So, everyone planning to see Obama in Leesburg doesn't have a job, eh? Well, I am happily retired ... as are many in our area. And, let's not forget all the people who work the night shifts in hospitals, etc. And, the women/men who stay home to take care of their children because the other spouse can provide a decent income to make this possible. Visit your local supermarkets and department stores during the day. How many of these businesses have closed in this area since Obama has been in office?? I guarantee you, there are more people out during the daytime hours spending money in these nice stores ... than you assume will be in Leesburg for Obama's visit ... that is, you assuming they will be seeing Obama because you assume everyone is out of a job. Instead of bad-mouthing Obama ... you might want to study the facts first.

If Leesburg likes Obama, it's not typical of most of Loudoun County. Most of Loudoun County is far too conservative to support this "spread the wealth around" President.

Please open your eyes and stop believing the lies that Obama continues to so very smoothy convince you into believing. He is a charismatic charmer with a talent for public speaking and nothing makes him happier than to stand up there and listen to himself speak "inspiring words"....be careful. He's a snake and you are going to get bitten if you believe his words because that's all they are...words. Let's get real.

It's disappointing to me that so many people allow themselves to be fooled by Obama's lies although not entirely surprising. He is extrememly charismatic and well spoken and is excellent at public speaking. I hope that people will be able to look past that smile and his empty promises and see him for what he really is.

Obama had to relinquish his law license rather be investigated because of his crooked Chicago style tactics. His way of campaining is lying about Romney and whomever his opponent is because he has NO successes to speak of. The country is in the crapper because of him, he's in over his head and snaked his way into the white house, he doesn't understand basic economics, he's a joke. His way is big government and not for people, business, and getting ahead, you know, the American way. He wants all of the middle class money for himself, you just don't see it or want to see it. He grins and you magically believe, SUCKERS!! I can't wait for Romney to win, he will win, and bring this country back to reality. Let's get that Chicago criminal out, quick!
