Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio Accused of Improper Fundraising
A former staff member has accused the Sterling representative of directing his county staff to solicit campaign contributions improperly.
Loudoun County Board of Supervisor member Eugene Delgaudio (R) has been in a lot of hot water this year — and it doesn't seem to be cooling off anytime soon.
On Wednesday, WTOP reported that the Sterling representative has been accused of improperly directing his county staff to solicit campaign contributions.
Former part-time aide Donna Mateer told The Washington Post that she spent most of her time calling potential campaign donors. Delgaudio has denied doing anything wrong and the FBI is currently looking into the situation, the newspaper reported.
Attempts by Patch to reach Delgaudio Wednesday for comment were unsuccessful.
Back in March, members of the Loudoun County Democratic Committee requested that Delgaudio step down from the board of supervisors. The request came after members of the LCDC discovered the Southern Poverty Law Center had labeled Public Advocate of the United States, for which Delgaudio has served as executive director since 1981, a hate group for its anti-gay views.
Delgaudio rejected the request and was later the subject of a protest by the same group outside an event that he hosted back in June.
It is unclear what the future holds for the current representative who began his fourth term on the board earlier this year.

It's absurd, a bitter former employee accused her boss of improperly doing part of his job. Wow, that's a new story!

This is not a bitter employee, this is a conservative woman with integrity who worked for a verbally abusive man who threatened her job if she did not do what was asked of her even though it was wrong. I have seen him in action, as a staunch conservative, I believe in telling the truth. I don't care what side of the aisle you are on, if you are caught lying, you must be exposed. Too many have chosen party over principle, I have chosen principle.

Good! People who are that full of hate shouldn't hold any kind of office to begin with.

I am concerned more with his lying and lack of integrity with regard to his political office. He knows how to spin like no other elected official I have seen. Deflection from the truth is his specialty.

Mr. Delgaudio is just plain "improper." He, his views, his vitriol, his history and now his "spin" on this intentional public fraud all lead one to wonder what is wrong with the people who keep him in office. I guess the ability to endure embarassment and degridation is just limitless. For the sake of Loudoun County's governmental integrity, I hope those in power -- including Mr. York who seemingly turned his back on Ms. Mateer -- follow this up and are unyielding in theiir search for the truth.

I agree, county funds/employees should not be used for fundraising.
Hoever, the County Supervisors approved the Silver Line Metro which may be the most costly, irresponsible decision ever made, possibly so their friend contractors could make money building the Metro ..... Only small part of Eastern Loudoun will benefit from the Metro and even there only few will use it ....
How is that different from what Delgaudio have done???
Except that the Silver line is THEFT of PUBLIC MONEY done LEGALLY.

What happened to innocent till proven guilty? All we have are the accusations of two bitter women.
As far as his 'hate' goes, I am pretty sure one of the great things about this country is that people are allowed to think what they want, and the voters can elect whom they want. So if the voters in his district are happy with him, then why on earth should he not be allowed to continue to serve his district?

This particular case against Eugene Delgaudio is one of many that he has engineered over the past 12 years. I have never seen or meet a person that is so full of hate against so many. Eugene, this America, Love it or Leave it. I will gladly pay for your one way ticket to Saudia Arabia or North Korea if you promise never to return.

@Harold Looney,
There is one problem with your one-way ticket: Delgaudio is a legally elected county supervisor representing the Sterling District since November 1999, and was re-elected in 2003, 2007, and 2011.
Are you suggesting the entire Sterling District is made up of uneducated, "hateful, narrow-minded bigots" ???
This is also what is good about America, Love it or Leave it.

What's good about America is that you can love it or CHANGE it.
We can make a change for the better by voting embarrassments like Delgaudio out.

The Radical Homosexuals infiltrating the United States Congress have a plan:
Indoctrinate an entire generation of American children with pro-homosexual propaganda and eliminate traditional values from American society.
US Government should have NO AUTHORITY to force the Homosexual Agenda on the American people, much less their children.
Please, take a few minutes to sign Protect our Children's Innocence Petition, or contact your Senator and Congressman and let them know that you OPPOSE "Student Non-Discrimination Act", which should be more-accurately named "Homosexual Classrooms Act":
