The Jeans Whisperer Opens in Leesburg
Owner says she has a flare for finding the right fit for every size and shape that enters her discount designer store
Shopping for jeans can, for many shoppers, be a daunting and frustrating experience; but at The Jeans Whisperer in downtown Leesburg, residents can now find a local shop whose owner plans to live up to the name of her new business.
While the shop—which offers designer jeans at discount prices in a space at 1 Loudoun St. SW—is new to Leesburg, owner Jan Forman is no stranger to helping both men and women of all shapes and sizes pick out just the right pair.
Forman has been successfully outfitting people with jeans for years, most recently at a pop-up shop in Clarendon. The Great Falls resident decided to make a move to Leesburg, where she felt her business, built on a passion for jeans matched only by her skill in helping customers select them, would be a better fit.
The customer inspired the store name, giving Forman the moniker after taking advantage of her fashion and customer-service talents to pick up a few pairs of perfect jeans.
“Buying jeans is like buying bathing suits and it can be difficult," Forman said. "Just give me 15 minutes of your time and I will find the right pair of jeans for you.”
The shelves at The Jeans Whisperer are lined with designer brands such as 7 for all Mankind, Jbrand, Citizens, Hudson and more. The brands typically sell for $150 or more, but Forman buys them from large suppliers and overstock sales, and is able to sell them for less at her shop.
Forman also offers a range of other clothes and accessories, including tops, dresses, jewelry, bags and more.
The Persnickety Palm, which used to occupy the building, has moved around the corner above Savannah’s and is located at 27 S. King Street.
“I enjoy taking the time with people to help them find the right fit,” Forman said.
