Town Auctions First Police Motorcycle

Sale open to public through Aug. 10

The Leesburg Police Department's first motorcycle, a 1989 Harley-Davidson FLHTP, could soon hit the road again, or, become a part of a local home collection.

The vehicle is up for sale on the town's Public Surplus auction website.  The auction ends at 7 p.m. Aug. 10.

The motorcycle has been out of service since August 2000, when it was repainted and put on display. It's been in town posession ever since.

Residents looking for information on how to become a registered bidder should visit the auction website.

This is the direct link to the motorcycle. A piece of history is worth way more than the current bid! Barely $4k http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/auction/view?auc=762583
