Voter Registration Deadline This Monday

Staff from the Loudoun County Voter Registration Office will be available at four branches of the Loudoun County Public Library to help with last minute registrations.

If you haven’t yet registered to vote, the deadline is now just a few days away.

Virginia officials have mailed out more than 4.6 million voter registration cards to residents. The State Board of Elections is telling voters who have not received a voter registration card to check their registration record at www.SBE.Virginia.gov.

Nationwide, an estimated 6 million people didn’t vote in the 2008 elections because they either did not know how to register or because they missed the voter registration deadline.

The voter registration deadline in Virginia this year is Monday, Oct. 15.

Staff from the Loudoun County Voter Registration Office will be available at four branches of the Loudoun County Public Library through Monday to register voters or make changes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Locations include:

Rust Public Library, 380 Old Waterford Road N.W., Leesburg

Ashburn Public Library, 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn

• Purcellville Public Library, 220 East Main Street, Purcellville

• Cascades Public Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls

Loudoun County residents who need to register to vote or make changes to their current registration can also submit completed applications through 5 p.m., October 15, to the Loudoun County Voter Registration Office, 750 Miller Drive, S.E., Suite C, in Leesburg, during regular business hours. Applications can also be submitted by mail to this address as long as they are postmarked no later than Oct. 15.

More information about voter registration and the Nov. 6 election, including a link to download a voter registration application, is available online.

i had issues waking up for work by myself and am now unemployed. obama didn't have his helpers call me as promised. can someone please ensure that i wake up on time on october 15th to ensure that i can register? i will also need a ride to the rust library since the mile walk might take too long and interupt my daily soap operas. i will gladly repay whomever once my monthly welfare check, from the back pocket of obama, arrives as usual on the 31st. during the last election, and up until this article, i did not know how to register or it may have been because i missed the deadline. bottom line, i am not an intelligent person and probably shouldn't vote because i know nothing about minor or major issues possibly affecting this town, county, state, nation and world. i will certainly vote obama because he and michelle care about me so much and ensures that my monthly check arrives on time. i know in my heart that obama will take food off the plate of others in order to support my soap opera, beer and cigarette habits and help pay most of my rent, utilities and car bills. to those of you that this article relates to, please rise above the depths of your current position, especially if you have kids since they shouldn't be burdened with the stigma. to those offended, realize the international community laughs at our top government, our economy will stay in the dumps until there is a real change and health costs will rise and your paycheck will lower due to employers paying more.
