The 22nd Annual Flower & Garden Festival saw roughly 21,000 visitors on Saturday, April 21. On Sunday, the event-goers were met with wet and breezy conditions for most of the day, but despite the less than ideal weather, several thousand visitors filled the streets to cap off the annual festival. In total, the event saw about 24,000 guests.

One of the annual highlights of the event was the judged landscape competition. This year, the event featured ten area landscapers who showcased their best work.

Most competitors worked through the night on Friday and into the early morning hours on Saturday to produce their masterpieces. This element of the festival is by far the most anticipated by the festival goers and this year’s landscape designs did not disappoint.

The Flower and Garden Festival is Leesburg’s unofficial start to the spring season. The 23rd Annual Flower & Garden Festival is scheduled for April 20 and 21, 2013.
