ArtSquare Reopening In Downtown Leesburg

Leesburg, VA (April 10, 2014) – ArtSquare is reopening its doors at the Shops at Dodona, 312 E Market Street in downtown Leesburg starting in June. Kids’ Summer Camps are already filling and adult classes and workshops are being added to the schedule along with events, a lecture series, and a new teen program. The art center will be participating in First Fridays and other community events.

“Closing our doors permanently was never an option.  So many of our supporters and students expressed their need for us to find a way forward, we knew we couldn’t let them down. There would have been just too large a void in the art community,” said Lisa Strout, Board President.

Kids’ Summer Camps are half or full day and run weekly from June 16 through August 15. ArtSquare serves over 300 children of all skill levels. “I can’t tell you how many times parents tell me they are thrilled with the level of instruction their kids are getting,” said Amy Manson, the head ceramics instructor.

The organization has been restructuring and rebuilding its board. The new facility is smaller but there is room for growth as the funds become available.  “Loudoun’s demographics are changing rapidly and we are planning ways to address that in order to serve the widest audience possible”, said Strout.

ArtSquare has been the premier arts center in Loudoun for 20 years. The mission to make visual arts accessible to the community has expanded over the years as an interactive, vibrant center where artists, students, art lovers and collectors can experience art on many levels. The new location will continue that model and add new programs, classes, and other educational elements.
