Breakfast at the Mill

Bring your family and friends to Aldie Mill on Saturday, August 31st to enjoy a culinary delight in a unique setting. “Breakfast at the Mill” will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., as part of Visit Loudoun’s Epicurience Virginia, a three-day event celebrating farm-to-table cuisine, local whiskeys & wines, and more. Breakfast will feature Aldie Mill’s unique Orange Cornmeal pancakes, prepared by Back Street Catering of Middleburg. They will serve the pancakes with Loudoun County Maple Syrup supplied by Vale of the Blue Ridge Maple Farm near Purcellville. Local sausage will be offered by Fields of Athenry Farm located on Snickersville Turnpike. Breakfast isn’t complete without a good cup of coffee, which you’ll get from Lovettsville’s Catoctin Coffee Company. And if all of that doesn’t satisfy you, make sure to catch a grinding demonstration offered by award-winning miller Mike Devine. Discover how corn becomes meal and wheat becomes flour, all by the power of water and the skill of the miller. Learn about Aldie’s past from local historian Rich Gillespie, who will entertain us with stories from our past while we enjoy breakfast. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are $18 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under. Proceeds will benefit the educational programs of the Aldie Mill. To purchase tickets, and to learn more about Epicurience Virginia, visit www.EpicVirginia.com.
