Exchange Consignments

A bad decorator finds a treasure.

I would not call myself a great decorator or color queen. I usually end up buying furniture at Ikea or Target, if that clues you in. However, my husband and I have been trying to slowly furnish our new home. When we moved out of the cluttered townhouse, we realized what cluttered a townhouse left a single family dwelling more than sparse. I saw the Patch deal a few days ago for the Exchange Consignments and thought I would check it out. I have to say I was impressed with the offerings.

I started off my foraging mission in a detached garage on the back of the property. There were tons of tables, desks, chairs and miscellaneous home furnishings. There were two beautiful white rocking chairs out on the side lawn, along with some patio furniture.

The majority of the goods were inside. I made my way into the historic home. The shop smelled of feminine whimsy to me; I loved the purses, scarves and jewelry in the front room.

There were also tons of lamps, vases and assorted knick knacks. Some were modern, others were more antique. There were two floors full, and I would be surprised if you couldn’t find something there to make your home a little nicer. I ended up grabbing two black end tables that my husband and I are using as nightstands in our bedrooms.

Ladies, I suggest you grab a gal pal, a Starbucks, and spend an hour or two foraging. You will have a blast! Also, take advantage of the Patch deal.
