Fight Cancer by Throwing a Pie in the Face of a Leesburg Official

Council members Kevin Wright and Marty Martinez, Town Manager John Wells and Assistant Town Manager Scott Parker are putting their mugs on the line. How's your aim?

There’s still time to purchase a pie to throw in the face of one of four Town of Leesburg officials to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Western Loudoun Relay for Life. The pies fly at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, on the Town Green at Leesburg Town Hall.

Leesburg Council Members Kevin Wright and Marty Martinez, along with Town Manager John Wells and Assistant Town Manager Scott Parker have agreed to take a “pie in the face” to do their part.

“I have been participating in Relay for Life for a several years and in the time I have started participating an older sister became ill with cancer and has died,” Martinez said. “Most people are affected by cancer either through friends, family or peers. We all need to help join the fight to defeat cancer. We can't do it alone.”
