Get Out: Concerts, Easter Egg Hunts and Oatlands

If you are looking for things to do, here are some fun events happening in and around Leesburg this weekend.

Friday, March 22

The Archives along with The Green Beets.  7 p.m. $10. Tally Ho Theatre, 19 W Market St, Leesburg, VA

Saturday, March 23

21st Annual Egg Hunt at Ida Lee Park.  12 - 4 p.m.  Egg hunts by age group, jumbo slides, face painting, obstacle courses, food vendors, photo ops with the Easter Bunny.  $10 per child in advance and $15 at the gate. The price of admission includes all attractions except food vendors. Tickets can be purchased in advance by stopping in or calling Ida Lee Park Recreation Center or online at www.idalee.org.  For more information, or to register, call Ida Lee Park Recreation Center at (703) 777-1368.

Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Harvest at Great Country Farms.  Sat. and Sun.   10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Word on the farm is “peeps” are blooming, eggs are hiding and the Loudoun Hounds will be out! The Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Harvest is heralded by the Farm’s mysterious crop of colorful marshmallow peeps that appear overnight. The hunts are lightening fast, so purchase advance tickets or arrive no later than 30 minutes before your hunt time to be sure to be at the start line on time.  3/23 & 24 Egg Hunt Times: 11:00 2 yrs. & under; 11:30 3-4 years; 1:00 5-6 years; 1:30 7-10 years.  Marshmallow Harvest is available in each hunt area for that age group.  Admission: Adults $12; Kids $10; Children 2 and under & Military ID card holders FREE.  Great Country Farms, Bluemont.  greatcountry farms.com.

Easter at “The Park”. 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Celebrate Easter at historic Morven Park with crafts for kids and an egg hunt in the formal gardens plus a traditional egg roll on the Davis Mansion lawn. Enjoy music by local children’s songwriter Linda Howard Hiserman, and have a family photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Children should bring a basket for the hunt and a large spoon for the egg roll. $10/participating child (ages 2-12), $3/adult. Tunes and Tours Open House at Oatlands.  1 - 4 p.m.  Oatlands opens for the 2013 season with free tours and live music.
