Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival Marks Its 23rd Year This Weekend

One of the town's biggest events of the year, participants convert the streets of Leesburg to colorful flower gardens for this family friendly show.

The streets of Leesburg will be transformed this weekend as the town welcomes the 23rd Annual Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival.

The weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and highs around 60 degrees both days. However, rain and evening thunderstorms anticipated Friday might pose obstacles for garden centers arriving early with truckloads of materials to set up their exotic displays.

The event closes several roads in town for the weekend and participants convert pavement to earth and show off their landscaping skills right in the streets of historic Leesburg.  As in the past, vendors will sell gardening supplies, outdoor living items, plants, herbs and more.

Visitors are invited to check out some of the new features this year, including a beer and wine garden at the Town Green. Some local breweries and wineries attending this year include MacDowell Brew Kitchen/Mud Hound Brewing Company, Lost Rhino, Starr Hill, Bluemont Vineyards, Little Washington and 868 Estates.

The festival is expanding this year to include the beautiful, mature gardens on Cornwall Street. Additional vendors and a children’s entertainment area will make this section an exciting place to check out.
