Nominees Needed: Birthday Party for a Special Child

Do you know a special child who deserves an extra special birthday celebration but needs a little help?

Bella Ballerina and Kara Smith Photography have teamed up with several local vendors to sponsor a birthday party giveaway for ten lucky children. Nominations will be accepted until April 30.

Natalie Perkins, owner of Bella Ballerina in Leesburg and Brambleton, explained that the business owners realized they could put their networks and skills to work for a good cause.

“We found there is a need in Loudoun and we decided to put together our resources to provide kids with birthday parties,” she said.

With the package the group has put together for each party, they have raised a total of $15,000 to be distributed equally among the ten winners, who will be chosen from the nominees.

To nominate someone, fill out a nomination form – which can be found on the Bella Ballerina and Kara Smith Photography websites – tell the child’s story and explain why he or she deserves a special party. A group of community leaders will read each of the applications and select the winners.

The parties are open to boys and girls, and while there is no age restriction, the parties are geared for ages 2 to 10. 

“The parties are all-inclusive,” Perkins said. “We will take care of everything, including the invitations.”

Participating vendors include Simply Cakes by Alison, You Hung the Moon, Curious Bloom, A Piece of Work Designs and Sweet Mady.

“There will even be donated birthday gifts and over the top party favors, as well as photos by Kara Smith Photography that we can print out and give to the birthday boy or girl to take home,” Perkins said. “Our goal is to give back to the community and we want to help others.”
