The National Weather Service has issued a short-term forecast for Loudoun County Wednesday evening, in effect until 8:45 p.m.:

AT 707 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM RANSON TO NEERSVILLE TO POOLESVILLE...MOVING NORTH AT 30 MPH. LOCATIONS THAT LIKELY WILL BE IMPACTED INCLUDE TUSCARORA...POINT OF ROCKS...PLEASANTVILLE...DICKERSON...ROSEMONT...ANTIETAM... KNOXVILLE...DOUBS...ADAMSTOWN AND SHARPSBURG.

HEAVY RAIN WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO BELOW ONE MILE AND CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS. WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL UP TO ONE INCH CAN BE EXPECTED.
