Let's celebrate the beginning of fall by visiting one of the area's many pumpkin patches!
Ticonderoga Farms, in Chantilly, is right in the middle of their Fall Pumpkin Festival. Enjoy hayrides, cider and of course, pumpkin picking with your paid admission. There are also fire pits, s'more making, an antique firetruck and more activities that are sure to entertain the whole family.
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now until November 8th, you can try your hand at getting through the Temple Hall Corn Maize in Leesburg. In addition to the maize, the fall festival also features a paintball shooting gallery, a pumpkin blaster and more! It's all-day fun, running from 10 am to 10 pm on the weekends.

If you're looking for a more low-key but beautiful pumpkin patch experience, then head on down to Crooked Run Orchard, in Purcellville. Not only do they have a gorgeous piece of land full of pumpkins, but they also have apple picking available. Plus, they're open Wednesdays through Sundays if you have some free time during the week to get a jump on fall.

One of the larger pumpkin patches in the area, Great Country Farms, in Bluemont, has enough activities to keep you busy all day. Featuring hay rides, large bouncing pillows, pig racing and a tractor tire mountain, you can be there for hours before you even see a pumpkin. While you're there, be sure to check out P-Rex, Great Country Farms' giant pumpkin-munching dinosaur.
It's probably safe to say that Pumpkinville is the only place where you'll be able to get pumpkins while hanging out with a camel. In addition to the critters at the animal park, there's a 200 ft. kids' zip line, an inflatable obstacle course, a free pumpkin with entry, and all of the apples and apple cider you can eat and drink.
