Patch Picks

In this week's edition of Patch Picks, let's get breakfast.

It doesn't really matter where you are in your life: you can be a single 20-something, or in your 40s with three kids. Regardless, weekend breakfast is essential. Maybe it involves drinking; maybe it doesn't. Maybe it's to help a hangover; maybe it's just a way to get the kids out of the house before they destroy everything you own. Whatever the reason, here are five great places to get breakfast or brunch in Leesburg.

Do you want bacon, eggs, and delicious coffee? Done. This Leesburg staple has been in business since 1865 for a reason: they offer delicious, no-frills food at a reasonable price. Stop by any time in the morning for eggs, pancakes, or fantastic french toast. They don't serve breakfast all day though, so get there before noon.

Sometimes the morning just calls for Huevos Rancheros. That is just a fact. Not only does Anita's have fantastic Huevos Rancheros and other New Mexican-style food, but the more traditional members in your party can stick with an omelet. No matter who you're with, you can find something everyone will like.

If you're just looking for something quick, Puccio's is your place. I cannot recommend the tomato basil mozzarella omelet enough. It comes with toast, but you can also get some fruit or yogurt on the side. Plus, the coffee is serve-your-own and delicious.

I only have two words for you: Bottomless. Mimosas. Okay, you want a few more? They have a delicious, reasonably-priced brunch menu, but also an excellent tapas menu in case you're not in a breakfast-y mood. I highly recommend the cheese plate. The local honey that they put on it is amazing.

Blue Ridge is another restaurant that does an excellent weekend brunch. They have cocktail specials as well as a chef's choice pancake special every week. If that's not your speed, you can get the eggs benedict which is delicious on its own, but the asparagus and potatoes on the side are worth the price of admission.
