Storm Timeline: When Will It Stop Raining in Leesburg?

As the rain started falling Thursday afternoon, forecasters predicted that this storm wasn't leaving anytime soon.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 8 p.m., with a flash flood watch until 6 p.m. Friday.

The heaviest rain is expected to fall late Thursday and into Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Rainfall amounts across the region were expected to reach 2 inches to 4 inches.
The forecast from the National Weather Service predicts showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then showers likely between noon and 2 p.m.
