The Great Escape

In this week's edition of The Great Escape, we give you an all-day Bluegrass extravaganza.

Mother's Day is going to be filled with crowded restaurants serving brunch and 4-course prix fixe meals that just cause moms more stress because the entire affair takes longer than the amount of patience the kids have. So if that's not her speed, why not celebrate Mother's Day a little bit early?

Take the stress out of the day and just relax with some good food, great music, and maybe even a little wine at the 2nd annual Loudoun Bluegrass Festival.

From 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday, May 7, you and your family can enjoy the down-home tunes of Nothin' Fancy and Della Mae among others.

Local wineries will be on hand to do tastings, and you can enjoy Carolina Brothers BBQ while you attend one of the several pickin' competitions throughout the day.

Proceeds from the event go to support the efforts of the Dulles International Airport Rotary Club.
