In this week's edition of The Great Escape, head down to Bluemont for some BBQ and Blackberries.
You can't take an evening walk in the summertime without smelling someone grilling up dinner somewhere. Why not enjoy this summer tradition with your community at the at Great Country Farms in Bluemont?
On Saturday, July 30, enjoy a day chock-full of events for the entire family. There will be an officially-sanctioned BBQ competition, including ribs, pulled pork, chicken and beef.
If that's not your thing, then enjoy the u-pick blackberries, which will be at their peak. There's even going to be a BlackBerry Bonanza Dessert Contest, that is open to everyone.

In addition to the food contests, there will be other events, which will include relay races, tie-dyeing, crafts, storytelling and hayrides. Live music will also be provided by The Lloyd Dobler Effect.
Advance tickets can be purchased here for $10, or bought on the day of the event for $12.
