Video Celebrates Inova Loudoun's 100th Birthday

Clips showcase hospital's history, interviews doctors.

Inova Loudoun Hospital is honoring its 100th anniversary, and to celebrate, has released a commemorative video that gives local residents a glimpse at how the award-winning facility came to be.

"The video depicts the community hospital’s first 100 years, 'that opened in a rented house with one hundred dollars in the bank.' Transposing photos of old Loudoun with those of today, one can see the strength of the Loudoun community that has survived to the present day," the hospital wrote in an announcement about the celebration.

The hospital first opened in 1912 as Leesburg Hospital, officials say. Over the years, it became part of the Inova Health system, a journey documented in the video.

"A montage of clips including community leaders and donors, doctors, nurses, technicians, volunteers and others share what Inova Loudoun Hospital means to them and to the community.  It serves as a reminder of a community steeped in a history of caring for one another.  While technology has advanced and Inova Loudoun Hospital has kept up to speed ... the collegial and familial feel within its doors has not been lost," the hospital wrote.
