Viewfinder: Giving Back
The Patch gives you some suggestions for places to volunteer.
This past Monday I took part in a volunteering activity to put together bagged lunches for the Embry Rucker Community Shelter. The Embry Rucker shelter accepts these bagged lunches and distributes them daily to residents and drop in clients. Each bag consists of two sandwiches, a bottle of water, and a couple of snacks. It's a small sacrifice that means alot to someone in need. While the Embry Rucker shelter is located in Reston, it is a good cause to take part in regardless of where you live. If you want to find out how you can help out this shelter, you can find details here: http://www.restoninterfaith.org/pages/page.asp?page_id=15288
If you are looking to give back to some of the local (Leesburg) area shelters and organizations, there are many places you can volunteer at. Below is a list of just a few places worth looking at.
