FREE! More Than A Concert, It's an Experience!

Julia Braxton, Miss District of Columbia's Outstanding Teen, 2010, and Virginia Icon 2008,  will be performing with other vocal students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, in Washington DC.  They will present in song and dance, songs from Broadway, jazz, Spirituals, and Classical genres.  In the last year, Julia and these students have performed at the White House (four times-once for Pres. Obama's inauguration), for VP Joe Biden at his residence, at the Kennedy Center with Opera singer Deniece Graves, Stevie Wonder, and Earth, Wind, and Fire.  They recently performed at the Embassy of France and they have now invited them to tour France as ambassadors of music.  This concert is FREE but the kids will be asking for a free will donation at the end of the performance to assist them with travel expenses.

Julia a junior at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and enjoys dual residency in Waterford Virginia, and Chevy Chase, DC.  She attended Blue Ridge Middle School and Harmony Junior High School.  She is a regular soloist at Grace Annex United Methodist Church in Purcellville, VA.

Please call Terri Braxton 703-615-7523 or email tbraxton@cwla.org if you have any further questions.  I have attached the flyer for the event, and a picture of Julia and the kids with the First Lady.  I have another with both the President and First lady, but the file is 5.6 MB so I'm afraid it might bounce back.  Let me know if you want to see it and I'll send it separately.  Thanks.
