Great Country Farms Cider Festival

Nothing says fall like fresh, locally grown apples. Great Country Farms kicks off the glorious autumn season with the Cider Festival September 22 and 23. A selection of sparkling ciders carry distinctive notes of peach, raspberry or cherry and adults can sample apple and other wines from Corcoran Vineyard. Showalters Orchard will be offering hard cider tastings for purchase. All ages enjoy the Bee Amaized corn maze with its fun honey comb design. Kids who have never visited a pre-frost pumpkin patch can search through waist high vines for that special pumpkin and come back later in the season to pick them. Fresh apple butter is available from the members of Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford, VA who have been making apple butter for more than twenty-five years.

The weekend features live music from the Wil Gravatt Duo and specially prepared cider slushies at the Farm’s Roosteraunt. Plenty of fresh cider and other fall produce and decorative items are available in the Country Store along with a carefully curated selection of locally produced meat, eggs, and dairy products. Unique gift items can also be found. Kids love the 5 acre farm style playground and leashed dogs are always welcome.
