SEUSSICAL at Belmont Ridge Middle School

SEUSSICAL is coming to Belmont Ridge Middle School

LEESBURG, VA (3/20/12) --Belmont Ridge Middle School in Lansdowne proudly presents SEUSSICAL for two weekends in April, 2012. Show dates are April 12, 13 and 14, and April 19, 20, and 21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and performances begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening. There are also Saturday matinee performances at 1:00 p.m. on April 14 and 21. Doors for the matinees open at 12:30 p.m. The show is directed by Jason Augustowski along with assistant directors Sharon Lanham and Niki Diehl. Mr. Augustowski, a 7th grade language arts teacher at BEMS, has created a strong sense of enthusiasm and excitement in the students of Belmont Ridge as over 150 students are involved in this production.

SEUSSICAL is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Many of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters come to life, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, Sour Kangaroo, Mr. and Mrs. Mayor of Whoville, General Genghis Khan Schmidtz and a little boy with a big imagination   ̶  JoJo. "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think" captures the show's spirit of imagination, as the colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the invisible world of the Whos to the Circus McGurkus. The primary plot of the show mirrors that of “Horton Hears a Who!”, centering on Horton the Elephant's endeavors to protect the people of Whoville, who live on a tiny speck of dust. It also features characters and scenarios from sixteen other Dr. Seuss books. The musical styles in SEUSSICAL range from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk. So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your imagination run wild. This is without question a musical the entire family can enjoy together!
