The Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS) will host their annual fundraising event on Friday, March 23. This year’s theme is "Casino for a Cause", which will feature popular casino games, a buffet, silent auction and prizes.
Local band Rock n’ Roll Review will provide dance music while local magician Steve Kish will entertain.
“It’s a great way of giving to an agency that has been in this county for 27 years and is critical to the safety and well being of women, children and men who are victims of domestic violence, domestic assault and child abuse,” said Executive Director Sue Curtis. “We just hope a lot of people come and have a good time.”
Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, also known as Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice, is a private nonprofit in Loudoun County. Its mission is to serve victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse as well as to educate our community, so that all persons will have the opportunity to live their lives free of abuse. All of the proceeds from "Casino for a Cause" will be donated to the organization.
“It’s going to be a wonderful way to support an agency that serves over 1,000 direct victims,” Curtis said, while providing education services to over 3,000 more individuals every year.
"Casino for a Cause" will be held on Friday, March 23, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Lansdowne Resort. Tickets are $100 per person. Call 703-771-3398 for more information.
