ABC Stores to Open Sundays Beginning July 1

Locals can purchase alcohol on Sundays now that a new law allows ABC stores to open on Sundays across the state where local ordinances do not prohibit it.

ABC stores in the Leesburg area will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays starting July 1.

The Virginia General Assembly this past session that allowed the remaining 206 ABC stores that hadn't already been allowed to open on Sundays to begin doing so.

The only stores that won't be able to open are those in localities that have local ordinances prohibiting Sunday sales of alcohol. Loudoun County does not have such local ordinances.
