Chick-fil-A Officially Opens in Leesburg

An ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning to welcome the family-friendly restaurant. More than 300 customers had already arrived as of 9 a.m.

Chick-fil-A officially opened to the public on Thursday at its new Leesburg location. At least 330 customers had already arrived as of 9 a.m. to enjoy a warm breakfast before going to school or work.

Among them were Mayor Kristen Umstattd and other town officials who welcomed the new restaurant with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony. A dedication of the flag, kitchen tours and free samples were also available during the event.

“It feels amazing,” said Restaurant Owner Danielle O’Dell. “Everything is going so well. There’s a lot of warmth and love from the town and the council. It’s wonderful.”

Vice Mayor Kevin Wright said he is very excited that Chick-fil-A has come to Leesburg. They’re a family friendly organization, he said, and it’s a great win for the community.

“I may have joked to someone earlier today that now we pretty much have everything we need in Leesburg,” Wright said. “I don’t need to leave the town limits so we’re set.”

Wright added that Leesburg has great demographics. It’s a community that a lot of businesses want to be a part of, he said, and the town is grateful that they choose to invest in Leesburg.

Customer John Rust said he intends on becoming a frequent customer at the new Chick-fil-A.

“I’m really excited. It’s been a long time coming,” Rust said. “It looks fantastic, it’s got a lot of space in it. I just happen to know a lot of the people working here and so I’m very excited about this.”

At 6 a.m. the to arrive at Chick-fil-A received a year of free food. Winners had arrived as early as 5 a.m. on Wednesday, pitched a tents and camped for at least 24 hours. 

Chick-fil-A is located at 1002 Edwards Ferry Rd Ne. Normal business hours are Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
