Dance King Studio to Offer Wedding Day Boot Camp

It’s been three months since in historic downtown Leesburg and this weekend all brides, and their grooms, are invited to stop by.

For the first time ever, a will take place at the studio. Dance Instructor Adam King—who has ten years experience preparing wedding couples for their first dance—with lead the class. Couples will learn the foxtrot, swing, waltz, and tango.

“I know a lot of wedding couples who’ll focus on a lot of the big moving parts and they’ll basically forget that they have to get ready for, or be prepared for, the first dance,” King said. “It’s a fear that a lot of wedding couples have but in a group session it’s a lot more low key. It’s a lot more fun and there is more energy. It’s a lot less intimidating.”

Often times, a couple has no idea what they’re going to do when it comes to their first dance. King said that the boot camp is designed to help couples get a feel for the different styles of music that are played during a wedding while introducing the dances that can go along with each one.

“The biggest reason that I’ve decided to do something like this was to get folks comfortable and to also help educate them. It really helps to understand the different options for a wedding couple,” King said. “What I’ve noticed is a lot of wedding couples will do their first dance almost right when they get there so it’s almost the first impression for the entire evening.”

The Wedding Dance Boot Camp will be offered on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3 from noon to 3 p.m. to ensure comfort and confidence on the floor. The cost is $30 per person in advance and $40 per person at the door. Class is limited to 15 couples, so register is encourage.
