Five Guys Opens in Leesburg along Edwards Ferry

The burger restaurant chain has found a home near Target and Costco in the Battlefield Shopping Plaza.

Five Guys has found a home in Leesburg. The burger chain opened a restaurant in the Battlefield Shopping Plaza on Edwards Ferry Road, near Shoppers Food Warehouse, April 15.

The chain started in Arlington, VA, in 1986 and now has 1,134 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. The company had been looking for a site in Leesburg for a while, said Five Guys spokeswoman Molly Catalano.

"We knew people were really excited about our arrival in Leesburg and so far it has been great," she said.

Five Guys is known for starting off the recent burger restaurant trend, along with In-N-Out Burger on the West Coast. It joins several newly opened burger restaurants in Leesburg including MELT, Kraze Burger and BurgerFi.

The restaurant's closest location to Leesburg is in Ashburn. In 2012, Ashburn Patch readers voted Five Guys the best burger with 41 percent of the vote.
