Frozen Yogurt Shop Celebrates New Home in Leesburg

Mayor Kristen C. Umsttatd officiated a ribbon cutting at luv'nberry early Wednesday evening.

A ribbon cutting was held at Leesburg’s newest yogurt shop, luv’nberry, early Wednesday evening, a new enterprise by the owners of Manhattan Pizza, located just next door.

Owner Jack Azar said he initially wanted more space for his pizza shop, including a bigger kitchen, dining room and walk-in freezer. Unfortunately, he was unable to combine both businesses, he said, but so far he is happy with the turnout.

“It’s been great. This is the funnest business that I have opened. When the kids come in here their eyes light up,” Azar said, adding that he has had full support from the local community. “The community is unbelievable. I love Leesburg. I love the people in Leesburg. I love the people in Loudoun.”

The yogurt shop, which first opened back in August, features gourmet-frozen yogurt that comes in 15 different flavors, ten of which are featured every new week.

There are over 55 toppings ranging from fresh fruit to sprinkles, Azar said, and the yogurt is known to have many health benefits because it is rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins.

Leesburg’s Economic Development Director Marantha Edwards said that Azar has many years of experience in the restaurant industry in Leesburg and Loudoun County.

“His new venture is a great complement to his existing businesses,” Edwards said. “Jack is a wonderful community partner and we are happy to welcome luv’nberry to Leesburg.”

Luv’nberry is located at 649 Potomac Station Drive in the Potomac Station Shopping Center.  It is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For more information visit www.luvnberry.com.
