Grace Keenan to Receive Brava! Women in Business Award

Dr. Keenan, founder and CEO of Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc., will accept her award July 24.

Dr. Grace Keenan, founder and CEO of Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc., has been named a 2012 Brava! Women in Business Award recipient by Washington SmartCEO magazine.

The Brava! Awards celebrate the distinguished achievements of 25 Greater Washington’s women business leaders. This year’s winners collectively generate $1.7 billion in revenue and employ over 4,800 people.  

The winners will be recognized at the Brava! Awards ceremony on Tuesday, July 24 at 6 p.m. at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University. An expected sell-out event, 400 local C-level executives and guests will attend to celebrate the winners’ achievements.

“The 2012 Brava winners are an impressive group of women doing exceptional things for our community and beyond. They are the leaders of today and tomorrow — a highly talented group that has the drive to do great things. I am sure we will continue to hear of their success for many, many years to come,” says Jaime Nespor, group publisher of SmartCEOmagazine. “We are honored to recognize such a group of women and their accomplishments.” 

Dr. Keenan is board certified in internal medicine, integrative and holistic medicine, and anti-aging medicine. She moved to Loudoun County and began private practice in 1988.

The previous sole proprietorship became Nova Medical Group in 1991; today it is the largest integrative primary care practice in Loudoun County with locations in Ashburn, Sterling, Leesburg and Warrenton. A fifth office in Gainesville is slated to open this fall.

Recently honored with an Enterprising Women of the Year award for 2012 by Enterprising Women magazine, Dr. Keenan is a business leader in Loudoun County. She is actively involved with the local community, serving on the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Loudoun County CEO Cabinet, and the Loudoun County Chamber Executive Committee. She was also newly elected to serve on the 2012 Tigerlily Foundation Board of Directors. 

In addition, Dr. Keenan is a member of 100 Women Strong, the Washington Spa Alliance, a clinical preceptor for George Mason and Marymount Universities, and an affiliate faculty for George Mason University.
