Hideaway Massage Celebrates Relocation

A ribbon-cutting was held to welcome the local business to a larger space, which will accomodate their growing client list and services.

A ribbon-cutting was held Wednesday afternoon at Hideaway Massage to celebrate their newest location, at 50 Catoctin Circle, NE, Suite 203, just above .

Since opening to the public back in 2009, owner Allison Shorb said their client list has done nothing but grow. On average, around 38 new clients come in each week.

“We’ve been just growing by leaps and bounds,” Shorb said, which might be due to a variety of services that are offered including a couples massage. "It’s just been incredibly popular. So it was very important that we found a place that had rooms big enough for couples massage and here we’re lucky to have two suites that are accommodating for that.”

Shorb said she couldn’t ask for a better location because she is still close to the historic downtown. There are a number of restaurants nearby, including the , she said.

Hideaway Massage is open seven days a week. There are seven nationally certified therapists available for a full 60- to 90-minute massage. All of the tables are heated, Shorb said, and hot towels and aromatherapy are included at no additional charge.

“People find us on the Internet, they’re specifically looking for a massage,” Shorb said. “We’re not sort of an afterthought location. So I think what’s happened is there is a real demand for a really good massage.”
