Inova Loudoun Hospital Celebrates Magnet Redesignation

The credential is the highest honor an organization can receive for professional nursing practice. Inova Loudoun officially announced their recognition back on Oct. 24.

 

Inova Loudoun Hospital staff celebrated their recent on Monday, Dec. 5, with a "Mission Magnet" themed event. Magnet is a voluntary credentialing program for hospitals, which recognizes excellence in nursing.

This credential, which was announced on on Oct. 24, is the highest honor an organization can receive for professional nursing practice and has become the gold standard for nursing excellence. It is taken into consideration when the public judges healthcare organizations.

"We are truly gratified to receive our first Magnet redesignation. This recognition validates all of the hard work our nursing staff have done towards achieving superior patient outcomes," said Debbie Stanger, RN, MSN, NE-BC, director of professional practice/magnet program director. "We thank the community for their tremendous support and heartfelt testimonial during our site visit in August."

Being recognized as a Magnet facility is a great achievement for Inova Loudoun Hospital, as it continues to proudly belong to the Magnet community—a select group of 378 healthcare organizations out of nearly 6,000 U.S. healthcare organizations.
